After completing her BSc. in Media Communications, Ally moved to London to embark on a career in advertising.
Initially working as Account Executive for two boutique agencies in Battersea and London Bridge, she soon moved to her first network agency: WPP's direct marketing behemoth, Wunderman.
Lucky enough to meet founder Lester Wunderman during her first interview, she took a position as Global Account Manager and spent the next two years dedicated to the Land Rover account.
By 2003 Ally had decided that a significant change of scenery was required, and she promptly relocated to the UAE. Starting as an Account Manager for the Dubai office of Omnicom's BBDO Worldwide network, she looked after brands such as Hilton and Shell whilst rising the ranks to Account Director.
Three years later, Ally's true vocation could be ignored no longer. She realised that being a "suit" was not her long term ambition and decided it was time to make a change. In 2006 she took a leap of faith and launched her freelance copywriting business in the UAE.
She soon won her first client, writing a series of online press releases and digital brochures on behalf of Mercedes-BenzUK. At the same time her understanding of the Middle Eastern market brought onboard a large number of UAE clients, including some of Dubai and Abu Dhabi's biggest advertising, online and direct marketing agencies.
After four years of successful trading she features global brands such as American Express, DHL, Emirates, Jumeirah and Nestlé on her portfolio, as well as many innovative UAE companies. Delighted with her career change, her only regret is that she didn't make the jump sooner.
